Considering galaxy was one of the top ways to buy pr, I think there is something "special" going on there these days. We were talking about this last month with quite a few people in email. hmmm

Did the people who bought get any penalties too?

BTW, beware the popups on that page.

P.S. if anyone feels like sticky mailing me some other ways to buy PR that are still safe, don't feel shy :)

Well, you'd just buy a listing and it would end up in the galaxy directory on the what's new page that had a pr8...

I would imagine that would be pretty costly.

Its a bit ironic that the Google folks who (probably unknowingly or unintentionally) did their best to make PR such a commodity now have to police it.

A couple of people emailed me thinking I was offering sites that have PR links for sale. I was actually asking if anyone else knows about such sites. I'm out of the loop of the emails going back and forth unfortunately :) I guess the SEOs doing this for a living have some inside back and forth...

PR seems to be stuck in freeze frame at the moment. New backlinks are showing but they seem to be having no effect on PR.

hi,

I have done a lot of searching on this topic of buying pr, to see how much it would cost. I myself wouldn't be comfortable using this type of service but I do have some information on it if anybody wants to sticky me.

regards

I agree.

I have a page that was a PR2 during development. On May 9th, it went to production and I added a link from my main page. Main page is PR6 and all other sub-pages linked from it have a PR5.

I excepted it to go to a PR5 in the May update but when it didn't, oh well, must have missed the cut off. But surely in June. But now, it is July.

Some have indicated PR just may not be showing correctly on toolbar but a search on it shows it right where I'd expect it to be with a PR2 (65th) not where it should be with a PR5 (top 10). All my other pages (white widgets, black widgets) are coded the same and rank #1 - 10 and this page (blue widgets) is in a less competitive market.

It may be that, with all the work and the holiday, G has just not gotten around to recalculating on such a lowly PR2 page. Talking about the holiday, why am I not out celebrating?
