Something I don't understand about PR

Is PR passed from the page or the domain

I've never been able to figure this is out. Let's say I can choose between two inbound links from two different sites. One is PR6 and the page with my link is PR4, the other is PR5 but the links page is also PR5. If they both have five links out, which one would I be better off with in terms of how much it would add to my PR?

As Brett said, PR is page dependent. Therefore, chose the PR5 page ( or both :-) ). If you have just one incoming link from a PR5 page with 5 links (internal plus external) on it, you will get a PR4 or PR5 page. However, the PR shown in the Toolbar is on a logarithmic scale, thus it will take much more links to improve the ToolbarPR [webmasterworld.com].

Ok Thanks guys. I think that was just common sense, but I wanted to be certain. I spend so much of my time getting links, that it is important to know these things for sure.

PR5 site with PR5 link page could likely mean that the link page is a low PR5, whereas PR4 link page on a PR6 site could likely mean a high PR4 page, and the differences between the two link pages could be small.
