If so, I'm worried that my April 2003 launched is still showing PR0?

No, you need to get at least one incoming link from a site already indexed by Google. Remember that a white bar may just mean PR<1, not PR=0.

Yep - someone might pipe in that theoretically every page has some amount of PR - and that is true, but it is so small as to be insignificant.

John_Caius is right - PR0 isn't necessarily EXACTLY 0.

As a general rule of thumb - you will never be higher than the highest page linking to you [this probably works 99.9% of the time].

any link is a good link to have, both from PR perspective and Traffic.

do not be fooled into believing that only PR4 or higher links count in search engines, they "may" be all that show up as backlinks, but I would put money down that others counts aswell.

PR is added, two PR6 links are better than one PR6 and one PR2 link, but that is still better than a single PR6 link.

A $100 bill is better than a $5 bill but remember 30 $5 bills are better than one $100.

Works the same for PR, just nobody know for sure what the ratio is.

i launched a new site in march and it had a PR3 ranking, then it disappeared for a while and came back with the new update. Now the is PR2. I have few links coming in including PR4. Is this permanent? anyway i can improve this....

I agree with both
More links, quality links and More content, quality content...

Both will help your ranking.
However, links will help PR - content will not affect PR but will help in on page ranking items.

Or is it more like a $20 bill divided between 2 people is better than a $100 bill divided between 20 people?

Hi Iam - just remember that Google PR is not often correct at the moment. Many PR0/blank when in fact they should be lots higher, last month my PR6 went to PR5 despite more links. Google hadn't added in backlinks.

That's very true with money and PR.

But whatever money you can get, take it, even if you have to share it. Same with PR.

Of course, if you have to work to get the money/PR be sure to evaluate what the potential benefit to you will be. Amount divided by how many will share it. True for money and PR.
