a slightly different question from the rest

Does Google care if the components for the frameset are from differnet domains?

Lets say you have nav on the left logos on top and content in main. The nav, logos and frameset are on one domain and the content (main) is on a different domain.

The domain where the main frame comes from houses shared pictures and content and is easier to maintain separately.

As long as the no-frames are done correctly, does google care that the frame components come from different domains?

Any thoughts?

I think that it would count as a page with two links (the src= links), but no link text and no body text.

So I would expect that the links should be followed and PageRank should flow, but not in an ideal manner.

Some people find that noframes content is used by Google, but this isn't my experience.

stcrim, in my experience Google will index the content page and will return that page for searches related to the content. I have one site that uses frames for a portion of its content, and I've had to put a frame rebuilding script into it so users don't get stranded. Putting a link or two into the framed content is a good idea, too, just in case the frame doesn't get rebuilt. I haven't tried it with two domains, though. I assume that most of the traffic would end up going to the content domain. I've never had a navigation frame element rank well, nor would I want it to.

To some extent it looks like google is trying to index frame pages for their individual pages - can make for a very messy search result.

Google claims to use the no-frames content - but my concern is will google care if the frame comes from different domains?
