I have been operating my site for the past three years. My background is not tech, but I have learned a lot about SEO from forums and newsletters.

LWE has had great SE placement for a number of wine related keywords, but recently my Google listing is skewed.
A search for my keyword will list my site on top as always, but the title is my servers control panel software (H-Sphere) and the begining description comes from there.
It has been that way for over a month and I don't know if it's something I have done to my site or a glitch in Google. I have written to help@google but other than an auto-response, nothing. My PR has dropped from 7/10 to 5/10 and Google now shows reciprocal links of 34 (most of them internal) instead of the nearly 1000 that I have.

I am always doing a little bit of tinkering, but I can't think of anything that I might have done to cause this.
But there it is.
I'm hoping that if it's a defect in my pages, one of you might spot it right away so I can repair it.

Thanks.

EVOrange,

I don't the reason for the mixup in the title for your site (tho' I suspect it might straighten out once google settles down).

My PR has dropped from 7/10 to 5/10 and Google now shows reciprocal links of 34 (most of them internal) instead of the nearly 1000 that I have.

The current update (Dominic) is unlike any previous update and many folks in this forum are experiencing changes in their PR and backlinks similar to what you mentioned.

For information about the current update and how it might affect your site regarding PR and backlinks, see the follwing comments by googleguy - especially the section titled "About toolbar, status of index, and backlinks"
