Timing Question

We put up a new site a few weeks ago and just last week we saw the spider hit our site.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes after your spidered to show up in Google?

I know with recent changes it might be hard to answer this but I would like to know the usually time it has taken in the past if anyone knows..

Freshbot will sometimes add you within hours - but then drop you again. Some sites take months to make it into the index for good.

Sorry this isn't specific enough - I don't think there really is a rhyme or reason to how long in most cases.
