More same links from one site - PR question

By lucky coincidence, i recived three links from PR6 site, but all of them link to my root index.html page. Whats happen in this case? Is PR distributed like these links were three indepedent sites?

PR is page rank. If the links come from three separate pages on that site you get three links.

Note that the expression "PR6 site" is not really accurate. What matters is the PR of the actual page(s) that the links(s) come from.

Page rank isn't transferred by sites, but rather by individual pages. Therefore, if you've got three PR6 pages pointing to your index.html, you're lucky.

It doesn't really matter on which site the pages reside; disregarding link farms and other unhealthy habits for the time being, of course.

However, if all three links are coming from the same page (not: site), only one of them will count.

Your best bet is to ask them to link to your three different pages - one to the index page and two to other important pages. Otherwise ask them to link to your main page from three different pages of their site. (Three links from the same page will likely count as only one link, even though I am not very sure about that.)

So, would it be better:

A - for all of your (internal) pages to link to only your important pages

or

B - for all of your (internal) pages to link to every other page of your site

Definitely A.

There is no need for your Privacy Statement or Contact Us or other boilerplate pages to have a high PR :)
