alot of "dropped sites" are back in google...

some have there PR back while others don't. Anyone here just get there site

Back? I had alot of sites go down with this new update thingy thats happening over at google and I also noticed alot of other sites go down. Today I seen alot of them come back, has yours? What I mean is the pr and back links are back but, no serlp's yet. Is this the end of "part 2" of the update GOOGLEGUY? Also, some of the sites that dropped out were good PR and now there pr0, will this change in "part 2" of this update(and sites getting into the serlps) or is this going to be part of "part 3" of the google update, GOOGLEGUY?

The only thing back that I see,is a repored spammer who was penalized for 9 whole days (not 30) and then brought back without removing any of the spam from their page.
Nothing like spamming to #1 in SERPs with no penalties. ;)

I'm suddenly showing up well in the SERPs for some strong keywords, yet I'm still at PR0 with no backlinks registering.

I noticed that I had 7 new links in Google that have existed for several months and 4 of them were there a month ago because of freshbot. I think the new ones are perm. I still have 51 links in Google that don't exist and have not exisisted before Febuary 2003. They do have 301 redirects to the same content with different file names. My PR went up +1 a few weeks ago. None of my other sites have changed at all only my oldest one. It is also the only one that has backlinks listed. The other sites have PR2 or less. I come up number 1 or first page for about 9 keywords but I am looking for about 150 keywords to show up in.

Phew! Thank the heavens for webmasterworld.com I was pretty mad a few sites got dropped for no apparent reason. If I didn't know about this site I would probably have not even paid attention that the site was back up.

So does this mean we will see a later date for this months update? If they are still testing (as it looks from the comments of other posters) then that should push back this month's update right?

"Kurupt" what makes you think that we are going to have anymore monthy updates or that these is even a set time frame for this? I think we have seen the last of the monthy updates and from here on out it will be a ongoing thing. BY THE WAY, we are not yet finished with "step 2" of these new changes so we have to finish that first, then "part 3" will start in with the "more then weeks, less then months" stuff google guy said so, everyone just stay tuned to "google update madness T.V." for the latest news:). Out.

Could very well be freshbot but my index page which was lost after dominic has now returned to 7 of the data centers. Backlinks are still missing, but I regained my #6 ranking. My site was one of those newer sites that really lost out big during the last update. LIke I said...I'm back after being gone since dominic began, but could very well be freshbot since I've been working on fresh content.

yeah, I see a revert on a serp I have been watching dropped top 10 to 70+ and now back again.

on another listing, I see a *really* old title, but the cache is actually the current page, with the current title.... one of those things I didn't think was supposed to be possible

Update. I guess the links I had last week were freshbot because they are gone now. I am back to 3-month-old links in Google. None of my new URL's are in Google. I only have links to old URL's that don't even exist any more except as 301 redirects. Has Google just quit? Are they just going to leave things the way they are? I got into this a few months ago and have made a lot of changes to my site to make it better for Google and they tease me by showing a few of my URL's for one week on 2 different occasions. Now just really old links is all I have. I have been really looking forward to going through a few dances and seeing the fruits of my labor. This is very frustrating. How long do we have to wait? Google guy said it would only be weeks not months. They are running out of time. Was that a lie. Are things that screwed up that they had no idea that it would take this long?

I operate a network of sites and track Google quite carefully. From what I've noticed it looks like they both skipped an update and also rolled back to a previous version of the index. A few of our higher traffic sites appeared in the index and then about a month later they disappeared and we're replaced with their older versions.

I'm thinking they ran across some major bugs and had to "Roll-Back" to the previous version.

Google will eventually come back correct. We just have to be patient.

I'm aware that a lot of Freshbot pages come and go from the index, but one of my associates' sites has a new home page. That new page has stuck like glue in all nine data centres since about 9 days ago when it was caught by Freshbot.

Curiously, today in www-fi, it has now got to the stage where the snippet is from the old page (and so is the ranking), but the cache is from the new page.

I don't pretend to know whether that's significant, but I know that a lot of people are looking at the 9 centers and trying to work out what, if anything, is happening on each.

For the benefit of those people, I humbly beg to offer the above snippet of information for them to do with as they will....

Yes, one of my domains is now back in google. White bar but it is back.

Anyone have any ideas about the sj data center. My other site has dropped from #5 to #46. Is sj going to be the new results...or is it to early to know whats going to happen.

I think it's too early to make any judgements about what's going on. Here's what I'm seeing for our site. (which means nothing in the big picture, but might shed some light when combined with what other folks are seeing)

I'm seeing www-sj fluctuate around quite a bit. The most stable two I've seen for the serps I'm watching are www-ex and www-cw.

Who knows? I'm trying not to get an ulcer over the whole thing, but it's difficult. :)

Everflux, in the past, seemed to be well understood by most here. Now, every twitch is seen as part of some greater mystery.

Freshie checks pages. They show on datacentres. The fresh results, although stickier than before, continue to have a somewhat ephemeral existence.

All the changes in the serps that some of you are seeing are probably the good ol' everflux in action.

The site search will find many threads about the flux, but the older ones might be more informative.

Added: Sockeye, check through some of the Dominic threads, especially the read-onlys done by the mods. There is info agreeing with some of what you're seeing.

I had a page ranked #2 for a guy who was on a late night talk show last night. Literally an hour or so before the show that "fresh" page was dropped completely from the index. Zilch, nada, nowhere. It still was showing on Yahoo for four more hours, so I got something, but... aiiiiyah I hate fresh stuff.

The page was fresh, created two weeks ago, so it was "normal" for it to drop out, but couldn't the darn thing have lasted one more day......

Could I ask how long the page stayed in the serps between being found by freshie and disappearing? I have new pages found, at last, by freshie over a week ago that are still in the serps. It's the stickiest I've seen freshbot be on my site.
