My new site (which has many other sites linking to it) was picked up by freshie about a week ago. A search for the site displayed the index page too when i did 'search for sites containing <mysiteurl>' , as well as two other pages linking into it.

The two linking in sites are still there but my site has gone.

I confess i did a bit of bulk link swapping before hand, but do you think i have been penalised?

no.

'fresh' sites show almost straight away often at the top of serps,

then they disappear from the index - only to come back later

Google is flaky. You will go up and down, in and out of the index for anything up to three months.

If you don't use hidden text, low contrast text (compared to background), text over images, zero height/width frames, pages full of keywords or pages of links to dodgy sites, or anything else obviously dodgy, you should have nothing to worry about. Just enjoy the rollercoaster.

Right now, my site is at a peak, a few days from now, who knows.

Regards,
Kaled.

it is just ironic that, my sites have always had no problems being added to google, for some reason, when i dont care about being listed , i am listed.
When i bother to fix everything up waiting for google to come around it takes forever.
