Google Submitting Forms?

Here's a strange one for you guys. I have a search form on one of my sites. When a user hits the search button and there is more then one page of data it breaks it down to pages using a querystring: mydomain.com/search.asp?page=2

Anyway I just saw in my log files that google has gone to mydomain.com/search.asp?page=2, which only exists after posting the search form. The page itself is mydomain.com/search.asp.

I don't know of anyone who is linking to that page with the "?page=2", the only thing I can think of is that it is following links that I was at, using the Google Tolbar.

Any deas on how Googlebot got there?

Thanks,
Alon

Certainly not in the Googlebot's nature to go around submitting forms. I have both GET and POST forms in my site and I have never seen Googlebot request the target URL.

I'd buy your Toolbar theory though, coupled with Googlebot's recently acquired dynamic URL skillz. He is no longer so frightened of big nasty scary looking URLs.
