What happened if a site went from PR5 to PR0?

i am the webmaster for <a site>. Ive done my best to play by the rules. No hidden text, no broken links, lots of genuine incoming links, no link popularity schemes etc just pure and honest SEO. my site got a PR of 5 within one month of me boking the URL and uploading the site. All i did was make lots of links daily and allowed the spider to spider my site. For last one week my index page has suddenly been given a PR of ZERO and sometimes i just get the grey bar in the page rank toolbar. I am new to all this. Can someone please help e figure out the problem. It all seems too tricky to me as I cant spot anything wrong whatsoever.

How long has the site been up? Do you know of any incoming links?

The site has been up for two and a half months.. google started showing the backward links as 56, then suddenly google shows zero backward links! please help me what is going on.

Also, some sites that are showing PR0 *do* show backlinks. So if you're seeing the possibly false PR0, check for backlinks too - I have several supposedly PR0s, but they're all showing backlinks, which I assume cannot happen if you're under PR4.

thanks for the info.. I understand that. infact there was a day when the toolbar was showing one PR one minute an another the other... the issue is that the site is appearing deep down in results. The problem is only with the index page. The other pages are fine. I wish I could tell you the domain name so you could have a look at what the heck is wrong with the index page.

Avtually GG started showing backlinks on banned doamins a couple months back. I mean sites that went from (PR 6 to 0 ) for months still showed backlinks. Either way, I wouldn't worry too much as Googgle is completely broken right now.

Google's gone bonkers.

1 of the site's PR went from 7 to 1, and shouw around 400 backlinks. No effect on rankings.

Another of my site went to PR 0 and rankings improved.

I would not worry right now Mustafaa.
