Top 30 Results?

Same site for first 3 pages of SERPs?

I just found a query where the first 30...the entire first 3 pages of serps are all the same (slightly different but obviously duplicate content) page!

I thought that is rediculous and guess I just wanted to rant! Not real sure how much spam is going on here but I think there is a lot.

Rather than "ranting," click the "Help us improve" link at the bottom of Google's search results page. It certainly sounds like these results could use some looking into...

Some will say it does no good, but in the long term, it will.

I have seen similar. Does it look like a number of different sites are querying the same database? Do all of the sites have a "powered by keyword.com" link or logo somewhere on the page?

That's nothing, try the first ten plus pages of the results, 1st result accurate but little content, then next ten pages 80% same webmasters sites, unrelated content with wrong widget colour.

Google's just gone mad, that's all.

percentages, I know you are an advocate of any trick that can get a web page higher in the SERPS - cross linking, cloaking, etc - but surely you can't advocate getting irrelevant pages to the top of the SERPS? That just decreases the value of the search engine in question and probably does little for you at the same time.

That decision is up to each webmaster/SEO...in some markets people look at this differently.

Personally I don't want any one on any of my sites that is not likely to convert into a sale. They cost me money in terms of bandwidth and sometimes customer support. I have toll-free numbers on every site, some folks dial those numbers for totally absurd reasons just because they found the site....so, NO, I only want targeted traffic, but yes you are correct that I will play all the tables to get it!

I may play "dirty" in some instances...I plead guilty, no questions asked, but I only want relevant results at the top of SERPs, getting found for irrelevant results actually cost me money. Why Google wants to do battle with me and those like me is something I never really understood! All we are trying to do is get our relevant, highly liked and convertible sites to the top....why wage war with us? We are trying to make your search engine appear to produce good results!

Oppps.....that is likely to bring on the flame throwers;)
