Google's DNS record for your site

How often do they update their DNS info?

I have a .co.uk that used to point to the main .com site's IP.

Recently the .co.uk has been put on different hosting on a unique IP with new DNS records.

Google however is still crawling the old original IP & thinks the sites are the same when the content is very different. (co.uk recently made it into Yahoo & LS)

Both URLs have their own good quality inbound links.

I had a good chat recently with a very well known SEO & WW member who told me they had been waiting 4 months for an identical problem to be resolved with one of their sites.

Not wanting to ask GoogleGuy directly as per TOS...., does anyone have any clues as to what the situation is at Google regarding updates to their DNS record of your site?

When might we see an update to their records and is there any way to force Googlebot to say hello to the new DNS & dump the old redundant DNS from Gbot's crawling?

TIA
John
