Hi guys,

Had a page 1 no 3 listing on my main keyword, now dropped to page 2 no 5,so I thought I would get on with some work on my new site while Google does its thang!

I want to know if its safe to launch a new redesigned site, all same urls and content rich its just more user friendly and asthetically pleasing for the user or should I sit it out and wait?

Get the new site design out as soon as possible - always think of your users first and your search engines second. Google will grab the new content soon enough. :)

Hi Louise,

If you've got a new and improved design for your web site then go ahead and launch it. If the only reason for the redesign is to try and improve your Google rankings then it might be worth waiting a few weeks until the whole Google "update" has settled down.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Simple.

1. Never let search engines dictate when and if you launch a new site. The business plan should show be show a profit without any revenue from SE referrals.

2. If you are depending on google for being profitable dont launch it.

3. Everthing ive read over the past 4 weeks has suggested that Google is on a significant change in the way it indexes and displays results, and that this meta-change will be finalised in "more than weeks, less than months".

Anybody who thinks that the current index and ratings are reliable and permanant enough to optimize or build a strategy on just havent been reading the same threads as me!
