Ok after this update.... What 5-10 processes or items would you guys think are most important for high placement in Google?

I was ranking a bit higher before the update, but went down one postion on average for most search terms.

I have been creating content. What should I make sure the content includes?

My pagerank did go down from a 5 to a 4. I am still trying to get more links.

Content should include ... erm ... content?

Lots of words, written with the user in mind, on plenty of interesting topics. Don't have too much on one page but also don't have loads of pages with just a couple of sentences on each. I try to go for around 200 words per page - small enough to be bite-sized, large enough to look authoritative.

slk,

i have a site that sells woodworking tools, very specific types, so i understand what youre going through.

i found it helpful to include content pages outlining projects that the tools can be used for and included basic instructions for each project.

this gives me the content i desire for my site and also keeps people coming back to the site to see the "project of the week"... and of course, all the things they need to complete the task can be found through my site.

Thats a good Idea Clovis. I will try to incorporate ideas like that. I will try to stay around 200 words, John_Caius, Thanks for the input.

In General I think I am looking for things that work in the content. For example Title, Meta Tags, Headings, UnderLines, Bold, Italics. I am trying to make sure in my content I am making the most of each page.
