Hi,
The main generic term for products in our industry is "Bright Blue Widgets", alternative terms being "Coloured Widgets" and "Not White Widgets". In this example our site will be www.bright-blue.com and the main keyword phrase "bright blue widgets" is used sensibly throughout the site, so that Google ranked us #6 for the phrase (or did until Dominic...we're a new site, so still waiting to reappear..hmmm....).
I want to introduce the secondary industry terms into the site more, but the site does not lend itself to a "themed pyramid" (as recommended on WW) style structure too easily. If I introduce the lesser-used terms into the existing site pages, the use of the word "widgets" will treble as it's common to all 3 keyphrases, although it's in different contexts each time. Should I be concerned about the keyword density for this one word "widgets" increasing dramatically, when it's nearly always the main three word phrase "bright blue widgets" that people use to find our site? I'm worried that as it's one of the 3 words in the primary keyphrase, Google may downgrade our site if the one word "widgets" achieves too high a density.
Any advice appreciated, been lurking & learning for a while, appreciating the depth of knowledge here - thanks!
