Why on earth webmasterworld is not updating the Google Update History? at [webmasterworld.com...]

Yeah - i was wondering about this too... some people say the update has happened while others say it has not.

Does that fact that Brett has not updated the History chart mean that he thinks there was NO update yet?

I know that what has happened is not a TYPICAL update, but it was my understanding that it WAS an update nonetheless.

lol. What would you put in there for a date?

More importantly, what would you put in there for a moon cycle? lol

Yeah, I'd really like to know roughly where we are at now.

any chance of a bit of info on the update so far Googleguy, if in fact it has even started.

So far I can see that all datacentres have the new index and seem to be putting their own slant on the results, could be because of certain filters being on or off on any given datacentre.

Some new data seems to have been added but not much at all.

Freshbot seems to be eating as many pages as it can get its hand on.

But I think the biggest problem is the fact that backlinks still don't seem to have been added back in.

Throw a dart for the date. For the moon cycle I'd just write "eclipse". ;)

Take a look at the "Understanding Dominic" [webmasterworld.com] thread and you will probably understand why it's not listed in the Update History thread. Google is in the midst of deploying a new system for crawling/indexing/ranking and expects to need several months to complete the transition.

History is divided into "eras". The monthly update era is drawing to a close and will be consigned to the dusty back shelves for internet historians to paw over in 2010.
