Hey.. just some comments.. I know google is going through some changes.. does anyone know, should we not expect a monthly deepcrawl anymore how google will be updating? I know alot of you, like me have a changing site that requires alot of updating and we usually all cram big time before the dance so it gets up before the deepcrawl. What is one to expect now? What do we expect? Another words if their is no deep crawl, how will things work? Shold we no longer cram to have new pages and changes up by a certain time of month?
Anyone have comments? thoughts?

IMHO - don't base your work schedule off of google.

It just isn't worth it. Lets things come naturally. Improve your sites on a steady basis - and you will at the very worst - miss one update.

The amount of time spent tracking googlebot and the like just isn't worth it.

Only if you have to make a decision should you strategize about this type of stuff.

For example - if you (for some reason) get monthly updates from somewhere and want to pick a day of the month - then fine. But don't change YOUR schedule around to suit google.

Google can change anytime - be flexible.

It used to be useful to time your listings in certain directoryies to be in the "new" category when googlebot came around (for several reasons including PR).

It just isn't worth it anymore. Google seems to be moving to a much more fluid way of doing things.

It is like timing the stock market now - good in theory - but VERY hard to do in practice.

Spend your time on other things.

ok.. well said... but if their was a schedule of any kind (not that it was always "on time") .. it would always be good to keep in the back of ones mind.... I try not to rely on any one way of referals but google is just to big, you know its a major source for everyone, the matter how big the web is and how many places you get your referrals from, google is still a big source for most everyone. If their was any kind of "schedule" in which they would grab changes and new work, it would be cool to know...

I don't think it works that way anymore - it used to be - get things up by around the 7th - and you are cool - now I don't know.

It is harder to track things - as the cache used to be when stuff was last pulled and things like that.

Best thing I can suggest - is to get things up real quick after the update - but I am not sure if that is even valid anymore.

And with the way they are changing - I wouldn't place any bets that you can predict things like this anymore.
