Does Google Depcrawl Banned Sites?

Hi Everyone,

In the last Google Dance ( Mass :-)) we have lost our rankings on all Domains that are no older than 4 Month. Oler Sites are included, very new sites are in the index as well.
Now my Question: We are not sure if the Domains which are not listed are Banned. But this Sites have been deepcrawled by google this week.

Does Google crawl banned sites, or is this a good Sign that our sites will be back in the index soon?

The deep crawler is 216.39.*. Is that what you saw in your logs? If not, then this is freshbot. Odds are with all this freshbot activity your sites aren't banned. Also, are your sites out of the index, or just ranking poorly? If the latter, then you were just a victim of ending up buried in the last dance.

My Stats dont give me the IP, they just say Googlebot/2.1

However some Sites seem to be completely gone, some others still have very litle google traffic.

Not sure if this is the right area, but I've noticed something interesting.

While surfing around, I've stumbled across a few websites that have partnered with Gator Corporation, and when I hit their sites, the Gator software tries to download itself onto my computer. I always say no and I do not download their product.

The interesting thing I've noticed is that every one of the sites that this has happened on in the last few days, is showing a white bar for PR.

Is it possible that Google got a little ticked off at Gator's new SearchScout product, and that they are dropping sites that are partnered with Gator?

Just a theory, but I hope I'm right because I'm not a fan of Gator.
