Understanding www and datacenters

Seeing a different set of serps on www

I am seeing a set of serps on www that I do not see on any of the 9 datacenters. For example, for one of my keywords, I rank #3 on www, but I rank around #28 for the same keyword at all 9 datacenters. What could cause this? Anyone with a better understanding of how all this works may be able to explain. Was thinking there may be one or more other data centers that we do not know about that help feed the www results.

I am curious as well.

Others(including Brett) have declared the update over. However, the SERPS on www are radically different from www2 and www3. The latter two seem to match up with the SJ index.

I have no clue where www is coming from (but it's ugly.)

Google might be running something of a "virtual web server" at their datacenters. Return one set of results for google.com and www.ggogle.com or totally different results for www-sj.google.com.

Or they might be routing all the www requests to xyzzy.google.com right now.

Yes, i've noticed changes with results on www, www2, www3.
Plus, staggard results with the 9 data centers. Either the dance is not over or they are switching to other data centers.

Could it be www2 has the pre-filter results?

It just seems like some entries have gone, and others tidied up (where there were two pages from one domain, with www there is one)?

-Every time I've looked, www2 and www3 have continued to point to -SJ.

-SJ has been consistently different from any of the other 8 data centers.

-The other 8 data centers have been bouncing around all day. For our categories, the other 8 are more similar to each other than to -SJ. There was one period today in which each refresh of my browser showed different SERP's at any given dc, versus the prior refresh.

Looks to me that 8 of the 9 data centers keep updating constantly. Presumably as all the other stuff is being added in per GG's comments.

Meanwhile, I am most curious as to what distinguishes -SJ from the other dc's.

I am seeing almost all the same results across all 9 datacenters with the exception of -fi and -sj which are now looking 90% like the others. I'd say this stage of the game is wrapping up. My prediction is that you will see them all settle or stay like this now then BAM something new and mjor will happen - or it will take until the 10th and then we will see a MAJOR shift and may's deepbot/current backlinks incorporated.

Yeah. I have started noticing a bit more stability. I was just curious as to where the other serps were coming from. There is a lot about the whole thing I don't understand LOL. But anyways...thanks for the input. Maybe we will discover some new datacenters soon, like -fi which we just found out about 2 weeks ago.
