I thought my sites had disappeared from google when entering their URL's in the search box, instead here is what happened, is this a bug?

if I type:

'mysite.com' in the search box it says cannot find URL

if I type:

'www.mysite.com' in the search box, the site is returned in the SERP

before this last update, it would come up whether you typed 'www' or not.

This seems strange, but this is the behaviour I am seeing now for most of my domains.

my website seems to show up if i type

mysite.com

or

www.mysite.com

No difference (of course it is just the home page, no other pages)

I've been noticing the same thing, and noticed this started happening some time within the last week or so.

We seen this also, plus the related problem that others have raised about multiple forms of index pages being listed as separate results.

All of these things point back to the conclusion that Google should not have released these SERP's until the bugs were worked out of the new system.

I still find it difficult to understand that there are so many in here who seem to think that everything is hunky dory at the Plex. The fact that our own sites are doing slightly better right now doesn't prevent me from recognizing inferior search results overall.

(Even my wife last night was complaining about a travel related search she did on Google, and if ever there was a typical Web user it's her. She doesn't give a rat about technology...she just wants things to work!)
