Sups everyone!

I have another question, this time regarding subdomains and Google... does google "reads" the subdomain name as a keyword? Like, if I have a subdomain foo.bar.com, and someone makes a search for "foo", is it gonna count like a 100% match or a 50% match('cause of "bar" being there)?

Also, we're recreating our +15000 pages site(colorwidgets.com) and my boss wants a "family" of subdomains like blue.colorwidgets.com, red.colorwidgets.com, etc, all with unique content(without losing the main site, but this will turn into a 5k pages site), but with links to the main site and to their "sisters"... how wise is this?

Again, thanks in advance!

Keyword in url as such might count for a very small percentage in ranking and you could probably find as many opionions on the percentage as members here.

Sadly IMO it counts a lot more if part of the keyword in url is used as anchortext from external links towards your url. Hence the proliferation of key-word-rich-domains.

[google.com...]

Don't create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content

Nonono, we don't want to spam anyone, my boss wants some diversity, and every site will have unique content!

Thanks for the reply!
