TLD question

Are .com sites weighted higher than other English tlds?

All other things being equal, will a search on www.google.com for widgets give any precedence to, say, .com sites over, say .com.au sites i.e. is there any weighting applied to different TLD's where the language is the same?

I.e will .com sites score better in the SERPS simply because they are .com and not .com.au or any other English speaking tld?

The TLD makes no difference mate. If you are selling to the US though, people might be biased against a site with an international TLD. At the same time if you are only selling to Aussies it is an advantage.
