Does Google actually mind you exchanging links with sites that your visitors will find useful, and that will also give you reciprocal traffic, even though there is also the intention of boosting Pagerank and positions?

To what extent can you take link exchanges?

There is no problem with reciprocal linking.

What you should watch out for though, is linkfarms, bad neighbourhoods and getting too many links from guestbooks and the likes. Basically, if you just ask for links and distribute links for your visitor's best interest, you should be fine!

With respect, I suggest you reads the other thread, as people have seen that 100% guest book inbound links slip through.

Although this may get caught, it proves a point. But not yours.

Whatson, I don't think you'll have any problems doing what you're doing. People tend to forget there are reasons to link beyond PageRank, some sites out there produce a lot of decent traffic that you might get a share of.

But you read that you should not exchange links in order to boost your positions, to be honest that is the main reason why I exchange links. Although it does give me extra traffic from these sites, the main reason is to to get a higher Pagerank.

I dont go excessive, maybe around 50 links or so in total, and all the other sites are actually relevant to my visitors. I was just wondering if I had to be concerned.
