I have several sites and use the same SEO methods (proper, I hope) on all my sites and they do well in the SERPs. I had one site on a different hosting server. That provider dissappeared in the middle of the night about April 8, 2003. This site has now dissappeared from Google in the last two days. Below are some facts.

1. Host dissapeared on about 4/8/03
2. By the time I got the site installed on my primary server and the DNS redirected it was 4/10/03
3. Googlebot (216) came on 4/20/03 and read 20 pages.
4. Googlebot (216) came on 4/21/03 and read 4 pages
5. A week ago doing an allinurl search showed all 38 pages in the index.
6. Now 0 page show doing the allinurl search.
7. When displaying index.html of the site, the dreaded "gray bar of death" appears.
8. In the last three days, Google referrals have dropped from 400 per day to less than 100

It is my belief that the site probably got "lost" during the exchange of servers as opposed to being banned.

My question/hope: Can any of you experienced webmasters offer any suggestion as to how long these situations take to correct themselves? Is there any thing I should do or refrain from doing?

No, I think you'll find that you are a victim of the current dance. Try looking in any thread that is 3 pages long and you might find fellow sufferers.
