popunder in google search results

I found this topic here but the suggestions are not working.I have the same problem mentioned by one of the member earlier .
This is the problem:
Not sure how this got installed in my browser (IE), but every time I do a search on google, MSN, Yahoo, etc. A left frame pops up showing "Enhanced Results" that appear really to be some scammer trying to rack up CPC affiliate $$. Looks like they're signed on with Ah-ha and .In viewing the source you can see that this add-on is coming from popunder.info.

Has anyone else run into this? I notified Ah-Ha about this today. I imagine google & others will get word & not be too pleased.

Here's an example:

You've got spyware. Try spybot search and destroy (do a Google search for it) or ad-aware. It's pretty annoying.

I'd say this is better described as scumware rather than spyware, GG. A few weeks backs somehow I got some scumware on this box. Using the 2 products GG mentioned I was able to purify my system of it.

ad-aware does the trick as previously mentioned. Annoying is an understatement!

Norton's Firewall has kept me free of this scum for the last 8 weeks. Once you have killed it I advise stopping it coming back with a Firewall.

One of my friends had something similar on his computer. We ran ad-aware and got rid of it. He has a teen age daughter who downloads music all of the time. Ad-aware found 190 suspect objects on his PC.

I want to add some weight to the Spybot recommendation .. it's completely free, the author is very conscientious, and it's the only thing I could find that found and deleted *everything* bad. It's geared much more agressively to this later breed of scumware, stuff that Ad-aware is not actually aware of.

When it gets to the stage of popunders in Google searches, IMHO, it's gone beyond Ad-aware.

I was trying to be nice, rfgdxm1. When I'm off GoogleGuy-duty, I'd probably call it scumware. Or possibly just #@$%@#-ware. ;) I agree, rossH--Spybot is awfully nice.

nazeer, did you have any luck getting rid of the #@$%@#-ware?

Neither ad-aware of spybot woud get rid of this for me.
I had to hunt it down and manually remove it.

I looked at the source to get clues on what it was (I think I found "sbsearch" in the source).

The one I'm referring to is SubSearch that pops up in a lefthand pane acting as an 'Enhanced Search' for any of the popular search engines. It modifies the look of the left-hand pane depending on the search engine being used. Extremely scummy stuff.

I had to use the manual instruction found on Doxdesk.
Just do a search for: subsearch hightraffic doxdesk
on Google, and you should see the doxdesk page there as the first listing.

Glad that you did get it off, but I agree it's not fun to do it manually.
