This may take less time than I originally thought :)
Further to my post concerning "The Google Update Schedule": it now looks like the datacenters are *indeed* being updated in parallel, and we will see the -sj index in all probably within the next few days.

Google is now in a constant state of flux. There will no longer be any major updates as they will occur on an ongoing basis.
Google is now randomizing the results between the different datacenters, hence the reason for all these update threads.
No more monthly updates as they were known in the past. Users in different parts of the world will see different indexes from what we see in our part of the world. Our world will change daily, hence keeping all of you update watchers in constant flux.
If that happens, and there is a randomized set of results from a new perpetual update algo, how are any of you going to get any work done? ;)
Has their been a change here? Yes, but not enough information has been given to determine whether or not they are changing to a rolling update.
Give us another couple days for the datacenters to sync, then a few weeks for backlinks/data to be brought in--it'll be a slow process, but we'll be lucky enough to see things improving on a daily basis until it settles.
Probably should get ready for deep to come within the next couple weeks too; oh oh, been posting too much and working too little!
Augh!

I'm not sure, pageoneresults.
Maybe they've made those major changes only in this May update (and let us observe it for some reason I don't know), and come back to business as usual after Dominic has finished.
But it's still reading tea leaves ...
It's just bouncing until it settles.
There won't be any settling. It will now be constant flux. Just when you think it's all settled down, boom, another randomizing of the SERPs takes place.
I should point out that my comments in this thread are my opinion only and do not reflect the opinions of WebmasterWorld in general.
Yesterday on -cw and right now on -va, I am seeing some great spam free serps for a group of the terms that I watch. I find this encouraging, and wanted to provide some hope for those doing spam combat, and tell GoogleGuy "Good Job" (if these are spam filters at work ;-] )
What is worring me is that it is taking so long to bring in back links with the all important anchor text.
In many cases that anchor text can make all the difference in the world.
So, with this new rolling update, how is the calculation of links going to work? It appears that the link calculation will take place towards the end of what ever is happening so we are still at a monthly "update" so to speak with the serps bouncing up and and down during the month based on freshbot activity and whatever the last index it is pulling the links from.
At least that is what it appears like to me.

The reason i ask is bacause the new results seem to have been stuck to WWW for a long time continuously today here in the UK.
All we can assume now is that all Google has been doing is testing and moving data around between data centers during the process. Until - and IF - new results migrate to www all over, which as of now they haven't, there really isn't an update to speak of. If and when that occurs, then we can talk about the changes, once we've had a chance to digest and analyze.
Otherwise, for all practical purposes and in response to popular demand, the update discussion is over, which gives us all a chance to get back to work.
