Hello srinivas Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com].

if a site is listed at dmoz whats the pr transfered

That depends on the PR of the dmoz category page you are listed in and the no of sites listed in those categories. HTH.

srinivas,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]!

That all depends on the PR of the specific category page your site is listed on, and how many other links are on that page. There has been some discussion of whether it would be better to be on a PR5 category page with 20 links, or a PR6 category with 100 links, but I can't recall where I saw it, or what the concensus opinion was.

In general, go with the category that best fits your site, and get PR from other sources as well as from ODP. The main advantage of ODP is that many many search engines see it as the "authoritative hub" site, and use it as a good place to start a crawl. Thus, an ODP listing can get you included in many search engines without having to "submit your site" to them at all.
