I am new here and i hope somebody can explain to me what's going on.
This morning the cache of a site is gone in the new index.
The site was for more than 3 years in the index. ít went also down in the serps but that can happen i understood
Is this normal? and are there more people with the same problem

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!
Infrared, what do you mean, cache or listing?
If your site does not come up in the serps anymore you are very likely in the same boat as many people here.
It's most likely the fluctuation between the indexes.

Please take your time to read the Google Knowledge Base [webmasterworld.com]
Also take a peek at the Update thread.

infrared123, I have the same problem.
Lots of pages which have been indexed and cached before just are listed in the SERPs without a cache.
