Has Google loosened the requirments for doorway pages?

I ask because a site that was grey barred last month for many things including doorway pages, has just now been added back into the index with doorway pages intact.

There is no doubt about them being doorway pages because they have one for almost every state, all the same content only state or city names change.

Is this a tatic that is now OK?

I have to laugh at this one. Sounds to me like a recipe for a double banning. A two time loser. Three felonies like that, and you'll be banned for life, right?

I can't imagine that this retry will fly for very long. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall that Matt Cutts, the Google rep at Pubcon, cited just this very kind of doorway scheme as grounds for getting dumped.

Not only do they have doorways for the state, they even have them for cities within the states. There are probably several hundred doorway pages.

I can't believe Google let them back in without cleaning up their act.

I just submitted about 15 of them to Google, with GoogleGuy's name on it, so we'll see what happens.

I'd be here all night submitting all their duplicate doorway pages one by one.

MrGuy

Could you sticky me the Url? I'm doing something very simular but with zip entry pages for each city in the U.S.

There are real reasons for doing this that are not spam...

CCowboy,

If each page had original content and actually served a purpose other than attracting traffic, then I could buy into it.

These pages are not original, they are carbon copies with just the cities and states changed. A classic doorway page in Google terms.

And, they are all crosslinked with another one of their duplicate sites that didn't get the wack the first time out.

If your doing something like it, just make sure your pages are different each with original content and not carbon copies of each other and you should be alright.
