New site www.widgets.com and it came up in Google search

It is a brand new site, about 300 pages of content but absolutely not even 1 backlink. I see that www.widgets.com is listed when I do a seach for the domain name but I have white bar for PR?

This will change once I acquire backlinks, correct?

It's quite normal for a new website to start with a white PR, don't worry.

Give it another month or so and use that time to source out backlinks.
