We succeeded in buying a direct link on Yahoo! India homepage but the question is how do I track it?

First we used www. myURL.com/ ptnr.php?ptnr=yahoonewspl for tracking purposes but this is not counted as back link in Google.

Now I want to change it to www. myURL.com but how can I accomplish as I have to track clicks for payment purposes.

Any suggestions / inputs?

Why don't you just count your server log entries where that page is given as referrer? (slight downside to that , of course, as some very few Web users have their browser or proxy set to not transmit the referrer.)

shaadi,

sorry mate, went to have a look at what you were referring to, and ended up searching for a wife on your site.

the only advice I would give is, in the future do NOT post things like this for the world to see, I would NOT be surprised if a hand edit or Yahoo themself change the rules.

good luck

But I had described the problem in details with my post and never asked for a review (nor was trying to point WebmasterWorld members to my site) I am sure without a review of the actual link the query could have been answered.

Thanks for your support and glad that you found and liked my site.

Tschild option to count server log entries is the best possibility to measure Google referrals but we currently use Webalizer Version 2.01, which is not that perfect in doing it.

Ours is a global B2C DotCom company. Having an average 1.7 M page views per day. We are looking at cost effective commercial log analysis to use for our site. After much study I have a good feeling to go with urchin.com any feedback on this log analysis software?

Any recommendations on which are the best analysis software to track Google referrals? (If no direct URLs are allowed - Pls sticky me)

Thanking you in advance.
