Hidden Text, Google and Being Banned

I've been in the top 10 of Google for a few of my keywords for over a year now. My site is designed 100% using an external CSS file. I have a hidden message for viewers with older browsers.

"This site's design is only visible in a graphical browser that supports web standards, but its content is accessible to any browser or Internet device."

This is definitely NOT in anyway spam. Now, all of a sudden I'm nowhere to be found on Google. I'm still on top in other SE's.

Did Google give me the boot? How do I find out if I was banned?

Any help is appreciated...

Google's trying somethin' new on this update. To spare you having to read through everything in the 5 update threads, know that GoogleGuy has advised us to sit back and relax and that things will be changing progressively for the next while (ie over the next few days).

Also, those messages are quite popular, why not check other wasp supporting sites and see if they got the boot?

Is the sj site a precursor to the main Google site?

I found my listing on sj at number 1 for a few of my keywords, but as I said above, gone from the main Google...

It would seem that it is, however they (google) have yet to factor in backlinks for many sites, spam filters, and other trickery that they perform on the data.

To say it a different way, the word is that -sj will be moving to the live servers, and the trickery mentioned above will be applied at some unspecified time in the future.

question regards definition of hidden text - some of my pages are designed with a background color, a white table and header text the same color as the background, onto the white table - very much visible - i have recently read something that implies that this can be construed as hidden text - can someone please confirm this, and if so how long will i have to go through me whole site and put in a fix? needless to say i am hammering on the keyboard changing it all but am i too late?
