Okay,

I'm considering it, just cause it seems like, why not? I have mostly seen this done on sites that are blatently spamming, you know:

<div id="my-keyword">blah blah blah</div>

the spammers css for #my-keyword usually reading:

#my-keyword {display: none}

Kind of ironic that this type of 'optimization' will actually get them algo'd from the SERPS, or so we've been fortold by GG!

Anyway, I was thinking along the lines using keywords to legitimately name various id's and classes, not the visibility: hidden or display: none part.

So what's the view on this? I was all for it until I realized that this isn't at all for the users, and could be considered spam - in fact I am pretty sure it is.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? I'd love someone to convince me otherwise...

I would very much doubt that keywords in id and class names would count for anything at all - good or bad!

Okay,

I agree with you Krapulator, I doubt it, but has anyone tried it to see? As I mentioned, I have seen it in spammy sites, so kinda hard to judge what was workin' there ;-]
