When I do link:http://www.mysite.com I get no links. When I type my company name in I get several links. My site has been around for many years but just recently had a huge redesign. There are no page names that are the same. There has been one update since the change and when I click on cache I get my new site.

Why do I get no links with the Link: thing

There are no page names that are the same.

I'm not sure if I understand ...

But: Is your domain the same than before update? What's about URLs of pages? -

If you had links pointing to URLs that don't exist anymore - well ...

Actually that part is not relavent. But if you must know I ment that I went to a flat html site to a content management site that uses asp. We no longer have any pages that have the ext .htm. The thing is I have no backlinks. My new site has been through an update becasue the caches are correct. I have a PR1. I know there are sites that link to me becasue if I type in my company name I get several links that are found. Meaning that I get results that bring up pages that have my site linked in them.

The recent update apparently reduced the PR of many sites. One small site I've worked on used to show about a dozen backlinks, but now shows none. This is the result of those incoming links coming from pages which used to be low PR4's (toolbar) and which now are high PR3's. So, the site they point to is now also a high PR3, and shows no backlinks.

If a backlink comes from a site with less than PR4, or the site itself is less than PR4, backlinks don't show, although they are still recognized.
