I just browsed down to a catagory on Yahoo and the page that I would like to be in has a PR5. Would that PR be passed to the companies listed on it. Basickly I am asking does Yahoo count in the whole PR linking thing. I noticed that all companies listed there have a PR of at least 4 except one guy has a PR0.

Hi ogletree,

Yes Y! is passing some PR to every site it lists. It's one of the sole reason I renew some listings there since the last big changes.

If some site in the list is PR 0, it's Google business.

Yes the PR from the yahoo listing will contribute to the pr of the site, there are many sites that have a good pr with only a few links from yahoo, dmoz, etc ...

As far as the 1 site with a PR0 they are probably either new to yahoo or have run into problems and been banned ...

I've read quite a few posts from people disappointed in their "traffic" directly from yahoo directory, I would recommend that you balance the listing you want in yahoo, with the PR of the page it is going to be listed on ...

You say the page you are looking at is a pr5, a pr6 or pr7 would be more valuable if it is close enough related to get approved ... also be sure and go to dmoz.org and try to get a listing there ...

So would it be worth it to pay the express $299 to get on there to get some PR. I'm working with a PR1 here so anything would help.

Looking at the state of Y, I think the PR boost is one of the main reasons for submitting a site
