My question (apologies if it has been asked before): If my site hmpg links to 30 separate widget subpages(blue, green, yellow etc.) should I make the anchor text to each subpage include the word widget (i.e. 'blue widgets' 'green widgets' etc.)? My reading suggests this would help, but I have read that 'keyword' density ought NOT to exceed certain %saturation levels and want to make sure this will not push that level too far upward in the eyes of the algo... Is anchor text considered keywordage?
thanks
The main thing in your scenario is the immense importance of the anchor text. It's the single most important part of Google's algo.
So yes, you should by all means include widgets in the anchor text, regardless of density considerations.
Frankly, I doubt pure density is a factor with Google. I wouldn't worry about that at all. Having the keywords in the right places is what counts.
Avoiding excessive repetition in global text links
"Widget" really belongs in every link, but it may be seen as spam
