My site has still not been updated. The cached snapshot is well over 2 weeks old, and my new and multiple PR6 backlinks are not present either.

Anyone else having this crisis?

Where are you checking? If you're searching at www.google.com the new results won't always come up. Try www-ex.google.com if you haven't already, the update is stable there.

My site has not been updated. It's a new site that appeared two weeks ago, disapeered, and now it is showing back up with the original cashed version.

I am new maybe you could tell me this. I see the old cached pages however there are 4 new pages listed there but all I see are the urls listed. Is this what indexing is and it will pick up the rest later?

Hi all,

Welcome on board! [webmasterworld.com]

Have you already read this [webmasterworld.com]?

It explains most of Google's behaviour with new and newly updated sites. Enjoy!

Several of our sites are showing no backlinks at all,
but they are ranking very well in the SERPS and using
the `site` command shows 100+ pages in the index.
PR has dropped from PR4 TO PR3, but now top 20 in SERPS
from 300+, so I am not complaining!

Anyone else seeing no backlinks?

Backlinks usually don't show on sites with PR3. Nothing to worry about.

tennismaster... I'm seeing a HUGE drop in backlinks from last week. PR6 dropped to PR5 (but went up in SERPs), other newer sites went from PR3 to PR5s.

I also am not complaining about the SERPs, just concerned about the backlinks and drop in PR.

One thing I Did notice, is a competitor for one of my site's keywords is still holding the #1, #2, and #4 (2,180,000 results) on page 1, with a network of 400 of his other sites with invisible imagemaps linked back to him. Yes, every link still shows up from Google.

This dance he went from a PR6 to a PR7...........

Since he does this month after month, despite spam reports to Google - this month its going to be time for me to be 'creative' as well.
