Hello Group,

I went on a 2 day trip hoping to have some rest because all the stress about the update... and now it happens when I'm gone :(

So, the question is: If I start searching links for my page, right now, it is going to count for this update, or is too late?

BTW: I see chages on backlinks but I haven't seen any changes on positions... ex: auto, is that normal?

Thanks ind advanced for your advice.

Cheers
Steven

It's too late for this update. What's happening know is determined by the last deep crawl.

So start working on stuff for the next.

I'd hurry up and make any improvements or additions now. You might catch the crawl in time for next months update.

Hello Marcia,

Thanks for your answer.
q: do you think this is april or last month update?

Anyway I'm a little bit upset, because I've worked sooo hard and didn't see any changes on my site. I actually don't see any changes on positions either, only 1 or 2... really weird, I think this update was the most strange of all, starting for the date.

Anyway, Thanks for your answer.

/Steven

Swizz;

The update has just begun really in the last 24 hours or so. It can take several days for it to finish.

After that is when we will know with certainty what the results were.

Better to spend the next few days updating your site to be ready for the next crawl than to spend the days worrying about this update.

ken_b you are right, I will just keep doing what I have to do and stop worring, c'est la vie, so is life.

I'm searching some old posts to see how the google update works, if you know any that could help me understand this, feel free to sticky mail me.

thanks for your help.

swizz > The only changes you'll see reflected in the new Google index are (to a great extent) changes you made to your site before the beginning of March 2003 - the last time Google did a deep crawl.

The fact that Google is doing a deep crawl now and that the index is also being renewed at the same time have nothing to do with each other.

The deep crawl that is happening at the moment will only be reflected in the results when the next Google re-index takes place... some time towards the end of May.

That's when you'll really see the changes you have made during March and the beginning of April show up in the index.
