Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed that 2025 can provide a yield closer to that of 2012!

But 'll take anything better than 2024.

Since the last 24 hours or so RPM has fallen near zero. Is there another update going on? Last time it behaved like this during the December update.

Well, I finished December up 17% over December of 2023. It was the best December since December 2021. I really hope this Adsense trend continues. I have learned not to be optimistic, but now I am cautiously optimistic.

2024 finished with 75% less revenue compared to 2023.

The beginning of 2025 looks much better. CPC is $0.14, which is still low but better than a few days ago, and RPM is between $7.00-8.00, which gives hope.

@CommandDork
2012 was a golden year. I remember very well that CPC was between $0.30 and $0.40, and it remained constant month after month throughout the entire year. Those were truly golden times for publishers.

If I think about the fact that CPC is now around $0.15 and multiply that by 3x, wow, what a revenue that would be even in 2025. Unfortunately, it is what it is.

RPM at a new low today.

Happy new year all

For the last 20 years my day has been partially dominated by Adsense and SEO.
Just before Xmas I have left this addictive activity and keeping an eye on the revenues.
Just another life : more time for family and friends and discovered new occupations: being a human and not letting Adsense fine tuning my mood.
I realised that the revenues go their own way (my impact was zero). All the „experts“ guidance were useless (sorry).

I have over 80 websites and each site that is not making a min of 10 USD /month will be deleted.

We cannot change things on both Adsense and SEO this is not under our control , just accept it.

At the end making 4 digit monthly without doing anything is a good passive income.

In the last 24 hours, RPM dropped by 50%, but impressions remained the same or even higher.
The CPC of personalized ads has dropped significantly since new year 2025, while contextual has risen.

Seems, starting Jan 2, 2025 (first working day) Google was disabled third-party cookies in Chrome for a significant amount of users,
in the console a couple of warnings related to third-party cookies and AdSense, so things are not working as expected.

Cons: AdSense got worse and worse, in 5 years earnings was dropped by 400-500%. At the same time, the capitalization
and price of Goog shares has increased significantly. What does this mean?

I am convinced that this is what Google wants. They want to clear out all of the small and low traffic websites; especially if the owner is not investing in the site. Frankly, I am doing the same thing, getting rid
of smaller websites.

Frankly, I don’t think Google is going to reward a website unless it’s been around for at least 5 years and the owner is continuing to enhance the site.

I’m starting January up about 18% over January last year. I’ve had some increases in mobile positioning, but desktop rankings remain static.

Up 39% from last year but a slow start to the year in comparison of how 2024 ended.

Most posts here are not accurate and reflect the personal view and or changes people made in traffic etc: [adrevenueindex.ezoic.com...] - This is a better spot and is what i'm also measuring, basically after the covid boom (end of covid) lots of advertisers jumped in and pushed the ad prices in to max in nov 2021 since then the following years 2022, 2023, 2024 has always been lower one year after another so 2024 was lower than 2023 was lower than 2022. And the beginning of 2025 starts to the same pattern. Period.

January has now dropped to about 5% lower than last January. I knew not to be too optimistic based on the good December. Let’s see what this week brings.

@ QuanChi - The purpose of the AdSense Earnings and Observations forum is Discussions around Google AdSense display from your site according to the forum Charter so that's what people share here. Not everyone wants to compare their observations to global ad spend which can't ever relate to one's site. It is data, but not personally relative.

It’s been bad so far this year, but today I have hit a new low, traffic and RPM is dead

@not2easy+ that's totally okay, but then at least it would make sense to share some insights. Did traffic change? where is the main traffic coming from. How many impressions, daily we talk about. Because each country is different, traffic sources are different etc. So if some says, January starts great +15% YoY is not accurate for most of the people and may confuse some who read this. This may be for him/her but maybe this website just has 100 impressions or less and changed the main traffic source. So this data is not so accurate and can't be compared. But big sites with millions of impressions daily and different traffic sources can be comparable, yet the category of the sites count as well.

So overall January is not starting that great the first days in terms of ad spend, almost world wide. And the overall looks lower than the years before.

Now that school is back in session, the traffic on my websites have really picked up. However, the CPM is very bad. Disappointing, about 60% of December’s CPM numbers. I thought advertisers would be spending more; similar to how things really ramped up prior to Christmas.

Atleast you are getting some. In our case it became almost zero since new year's eve. And it's still that way. I even contacted the adsense community, they first told me that it might be a bug then they just completely disappeared and are not responding.

This week I caught up with my Adsense numbers from last year. Now, my Adsense revenue is equal to January 2024. I’m hoping it surpasses it next week. We’ll see.

CPC has increased, but social media traffic has dropped since the holidays, so the new year is off to a very slow start for me.

eCPM is better than 2024, but is low and going down each day.
It is frustrating.

My traffic is +3% for this month and RPM peaked last week, but this week it's cut in half.

Now the things have leveled out, I am up 5% in Adsense revenue over January 2024. It’s not as much of an increase as I had hoped, but at this point, I am happy with any increase.

My rpm rates went near zero as I had written here earlier. But since last Wednesday RPM started coming back.

Everything was stable for two days then they just start falling bit by bit. From $0.25 to $0.22 then to $0.16, now its below $0.10

Happy New Year to all. I don't check in here much lately (October was my last post), but I did want to point out a personal observation. For the past four to five months, I've seen a distinct pattern of revenue being higher from mid-month to the end than in the first 15 days of the month. It's noticeable, about 25-30% higher.

Anybody else seeing the same?

Also, although I've been somewhat of a Google hater, I've found that it's not worth my time or effort to "rage against the machine" so to speak, and have been developing a new site while fixing and updating an older one (yes, I have just two sites, and a dog, and eight acres of lawn and gardens and trees, which is more than enough).

Very gradually, revenue is improving. Right now, I am even with a year ago (-$0.04, but it's only 2:00 pm ET), yesterday was +18% from the same day last week, and the last seven days are +34% from the seven days prior. I'm not doing anything special other than just updating pages and fixing broken things (which I broke, because I'm an idiot).

If that's helpful, you're welcome. I try to abide by the biblical advice: "It's better to light a candle than curse the darkness." I also find an occasional stiff drink or six to be helpful.

May all of you fine folks find happiness and prosperity this year, even if it doesn't involve Google. Stay positive.

We're at about a year since the CPC-to-CPM switch and it's been...a struggle.
