Today, I’m seeing the same trend as in the last days of October. Very unusual, as these are usually my best months of the year. And I’m down by 50%. I’ll have to take action and find a solution. Looks like my weekend is going to be very busy.

Slow start to November, and it's a Friday to boot.

Have to wait until the end of next week to see truly how this month will go - wont be better than October me thinks. The Xmas season use to be special, now I have to wait until April to see things pick up again.

My RPM hit rock bottom, I hope I earn just enough to receive the minimum payment from Google.

Just when I think things are heading in the right direction, everything crumbles...

Time zone change never helps me as well, as it affects most of north America.

Hi, long time no see.

Don't freak (yet), I think there is a huge issue with the reporting at Adsense. In my case, for the month of November, I have not a single page/ad impression whereas my account is in a good standing, and ads are showing perfectly to visitors. I am sure that on Monday and Tuesday things will roll out.

Just a follow up to my previous comment. I have the impression that indeed there was a problem with the stats ,and that, 2 hours ago, Adsense has started to roll them.

First, the October's deduction for incorrect traffic was applied, I thought that for once I ended a month with a clean sheet :-/.

Until two hours ago, today's stats were showing a flat 0 impression, like the first 3 days of November, which is not possible. Then all of sudden lot of impressions started to be counted (for today), and after 2 hours, stats are in line with what I am expecting. So I hope this will be the same for the 3 first days of November.

Wait and see.

Anyone else notice RMP way down today comparing with recent days?

Small publishers will certainly disappear in 2 or 3 years.
It started with the stop of account managers, lack of transparency towards the decrease of revenues, RPM.
Fortunately I have made a lot with Adsense and I m thankful for that. But fortunately as well I have other sources of revenues that are reliable and solid that are even correlated with the inflation.

I’ve been in and out of adsense over the years, and i had my worst earnings ever when they switched over to CPM back in January, but after taking it all off and flirting with Raptive (too many ads) I’m back with adsense and believe it or not I’m almost back to 2016 earnings.

I don’t know if it will help other people but all I did was redesign the site with a max 3 ads per page. Most have only got 1. Nothing in your face - no leaderboard, no sticky ads, just 1 responsive ad right on the fold and a vignette on mobile. That’s all I’ve got. My impressions have plummeted but my RPM is 3x what it used to be

@londrum, you are perfectly right. The less is better in a CPM bid model.

On mobile, I removed all ads, to keep only an anchor ad, and the vignette ad.

On desktop, I also display a vertical ad on the right column, above the fold, and one horizontal ad after the content of the page.

This is a win-win, because this is also less annoyance for visitors.

Thanks for the tip @londrum and @Dimitri,

I decluttered my busiest pages and will see how it goes.

So I'm trying to understand something and making sense of it.

What I thought was, by showing less ads/impressions, it would convert into lower earnings.

So my question to you both is, has showing lesser ads increased your impression/page rpm and therefore earnings?

I am down 72% over the same time period last year (and that wasn't too good either). I'm very close to giving up on AdSense forever, which is probably what Google wants. It would be nice if they would come out and just say it.

@londrum
I m testing several constellations
I should try your option
Nevertheless in pages with more than 5 ads I have had 1 view and 1 click for 10 USD

Let s see
Thanks

@azlinda,

it might be worth trying something new, like change up different formats, different ad placements etc.., but don't give up on adsense.

I was using a few ad placements per page, and what really changed the game for me, was using the anchor ad on the footer for both desktop and mobile and the vignette ad.

I am not at the level I once was, but it is much better. There is still nothing better out there than adsense, trust me, I have found out the hard way.

So my question to you both is, has showing lesser ads increased your impression/page rpm and therefore earnings?

In my case. When Adsense switched to CPM only, my earnings decreased by 30%. Then when I was reducing the number of ads, my earnings returned almost like what it used to be. So this is not really an increased in earning, but keeping a similar level as before the switch seems already something positive to me.

A side effect, is less invasive ads, made my visitors happier, and they are visiting more pages too.

@Dimitri,

I removed a couple of ads from my busiest pages yesterday morning, and since, my RPM has been tanking.

I guess it's not for everyone, but it sure was worth a try even though I only tried for about 24 hours.

Thank you.

If you’re going to give it a go then ii’d do it across the whole site for a few weeks at least.

Like SEO , Adsence it doesn t like frequent changes in parameters.
Lack of stability ha s negative impact on revenues. This is based on now 18 yesrs of experience.
Adsence can only optimise for you if you offer a stable set up even if it takes longer.
Also what works for John will not work for Peter

Sissi

Normally during the weekend stats tend to come later in the evening . Sometimes with positive surprises in the morning.
During the week stats can be updated every 15 min

When you make changes to ad types or layouts, there can be some delay while they reschedule/reconfigure ads for your new placements. It can take some days before reports start to show any differences after any changes.
