I’m starting to wonder if this isn’t the same issue as last year. Thousands of spammer accounts aim to take advantage of the end of the year to grab as much of the large advertising budgets as possible, which inevitably harms other sites like ours. They bombard the web to get maximum traffic and ad displays, using up budgets as quickly as possible, and then lie dormant for the rest of the year. These accounts tend to be part of Google’s large cleanup efforts, but by then, the damage is done, and the earnings from the early months have likely already been cashed in. Unfortunately, if I’m right and this is indeed the case, there’s nothing we can do.

Received an email from Adsense today, who is going to try this?

"New collapsible anchors option launching soon. You're eligible for automatic enrollment."

One of the reasons they are pushing this is that, the collapsible anchors offer more room to convey the advertiser’s message, which provides better visibility and higher click-through rates.

So my question to that is, since AdSense is now CPM, why should it matter to me since I don't get paid for clicks anymore, and will just end up having more people leave my site and not get anything extra for for those clicks?

This will take up half of a screen on a mobile device, I'm not sure if I will yet.

@allhearts Advertisers are likely willing to pay more for collapsing ads, so you can achieve a higher RPM with these ads as well.

From the moment Advertisers are "forced" to bid for CPM, they want their material to be seen. Larger ads, ads above the fold, etc, will always perform better , even in CPM bid model.

If there are some soccer fans here, you certainly noticed how banners around the field get bigger. Two rows of banners, creating the optical illusion that the ads are twice taller.

The new "collapsible anchors" has two advantages for advertisers, and to motivate them to pay higher bids. Larger image, and also longer exposition. Indeed, since it requires an action from the visitor to collapse the ad, this is still few extra seconds of exposition, and also attracting the attention.

For the past 2 years I have been focusing more on SEO, but it has continued to go downhill. What has saved me all these years is social media traffic, I know some of you have your opinions about that, but it has been a God send for me as it is still keeping me above water.

Auto Games seems to be rolling out in the Labs section for more people. Hope it helps.

I've seen it benefit (even if just a little) one other account I manage.

Yesterday was the 2nd best day of 2024 in Adsense earnings. Traffic was up slightly. I need to see where it’s coming from. Much better ad quality and CPM. I am hoping this bodes well for the remainder of the school year.

I also noticed an improvement of the ad quality, I don't know if this is the season, of if Google figured out how to get ride of junk ads. Some of these ads, I can't even imagine how an advertiser can spend money on them ,... or may be they are fake advertisers, not paying ...

Last three days have been trending up here - monthly high hit yesterday.

Maybe it's the early Black Friday ad spend.

My revenue this week has been the best it has been in 2024. I have only had one day in 2024 that has been better than any day this week. I hope this trend continues through the school year. Since the election, ad quality has improved.

The last two payment cycles in the US have started later in the day and don't hit the bank until sometime during the night.

RPM down again
Payments: 20 years long had never doubted that they come. No panik and live always like Adsense could stop in any month.

Adsense revenue has been good and by "good" I mean not decreasing. I'm up 2% over last year. However, I am not optimistic just yet. This may be the storm before the Black Friday calm.

This November’s Adsense revenue is up 9% over November of 2023. Traffic is down 35%. Clicks are down by 20%, but page RPM is very high. The highest it’s ever been. Yesterday was the best Adsense day of 2024. This Black Friday week has been the best week of 2024.

Still, I have to focus on guest posts, paid memberships, and other sources of revenue to try and make ends meet.

I really hope this Adsense trend continues because that would a game changer for me.

However, I am still NOT optimistic because of recent Adsense and Google page rank history. It seems as soon as I start to make progress, some type of negative hit occurs.
