Google AdSense will be updating its revenue share structure early next year

Read the article, but I'm a little uncertain of how earnings wont change when they say "Based on our tests, we don’t expect publishers to see a change in their earnings as a result of these updates."
I don't get a lot of traffic, so I'm afraid that the tier in which my sites fall under won't make as much as with the CPC version.
Another blow to us publishers by father G..gle.

@Allhearts
Yeah, I do not understand that either. I read the article, and it is unclear as to how it will impact revenue. It just seems like a strange approach. I use Google Ads to promote my business as well and I use the pay per click method. I do not want to change.

50% drop in Nov RPM compared to the past few years[it's the lowest I have seen in November]. If November is like this, imagine how January will play. I am terrified :(

Something I've noticed as of late is that add displays are very slow. The whole page would load and only after most of the page loaded the ads would start to display. I don't use auto adds. Wondering if this is intentional or a technical issue on the side of Adsense? One would think that the quicker adds display on the page the better?
Since this started a week ago or so the RPM is the lowest I've seen in 10 years since using Adsense.

I have a drop of 35% in 2023 compared to 2022. I‘m currently expecting another drop of 30% in January 2024 compared November/December this year. That will result in a total drop of 55% in 2024 compared to 2022. I‘m terrified too. :-(

Down 14% compared to November of 2022. It’s not looking good.

Ya, earnings for Nov for me are ok but behind last year's haul. And that was worse than the year before. And worse than the year before, and...

Not sure where you are all from, but every year when the clock goes back one hour in my time zone ET, I always see a drop in traffic and earnings, and sure enough today was one of those days.

@DarkSide83,
Maybe the Adsense switch from CPC to Impressions will be a blessing for most of us, the way things are going we can only hope

Explain more of this? There’s a switch happening? How will this help us? @allhearts

@MMedi26
Starting early next year, adsense is going to stop paying publishers by the click and start paying by impression, publishers will still earn 68% and in some cases 85% of the revenue.
Google states that according to their tests, that they don’t expect publishers to see a change in their earnings as a result of these updates, but if anything I hope they are reffering to earnings from the past, because earnings these days are horrible.

@allhearts I totally missed that! PPC and now by impression...oh man i expect this to have severe consequences to publishers. You will see their model die very fast if it doesnt work. I wonder how that works for YouTube ads
