Clicks are terrible. My views are down too but I think the clicks aren’t adding up. Black Friday is around the corner here in America so I had high hopes.

@Breathofair33 YouTube earnings are also very low for me compared to 2 or 3 years ago, so I think YouTube earnings will also be affected

More websites and publishers are added each day. That means more competition, more websites, and less revenue for established websites unless we can figure out how to INCREASE our market share.

@fearlessrick Are you actively reaching out to advertisers in your niche? Or just posting rates on your site? I've got a 15 year old site doing millions of pv's and I can count the number of unsolicited direct ad inquires I've received on one hand.

@Senechal That's some serious traffic, if you are referring to monthly page views. Aren't you entitled to some sort of account manager at Adsense when you have this much traffic?.. I thought, at least in the past, that was the case.

Adsense has a new set up that looks pretty helpful. It shows what ads are getting more impressions easily. It also shows us what sizes are doing the best and let us look up the ones that aren’t. Should I block ads that doesn’t get many impressions? Also should I block the ad sizes that aren’t doing well? It seems like I should but I just want to be on the safe size.

I don‘t think that blocking ads will help. The Google algorithm knows best what ads to serve.

@Senechal, me either! I have a site that gets a couple million page views a month but I have never had direct inquiries. The website is 18 years old.

@darkside83 I ask this because it shows that the ad is getting less impressions which means if those ads that aren’t getting many impressions are consistently being plastered all over my site, that means it’s possibly bringing down my page RPM and etc.

@ember not sure but when I just started blocking certain ads that isn’t bringing in many impressions in the last 30 days, my rpm went up.

I think that the Google algorithm tries out different things and that's why poorly performing ads also get some views. In addition, well-performing ads have reached their booked impressions at some point and Google has to fall back on poorer ads. The alternative would be to deliver nothing at all, which also happens often (in my case). I've also a website which is 20 years old and has millions of page impressions per month.

Well.... Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday revenue is up... But not by much. If this is it, this year is ending with a fizzle.

Then... Starting Jan 1, we have the new third party cookie laws to look forward to, so buckle up for the weakest January in memory.
