I'd normally say Christmas spending will soon help, but with student debt payments resuming, stubborn inflation, etc., there might not be much holiday spending this year. At least no government shutdown in the U.S. Woot.

A depressing start, as expected. Low traffic, low RPM, terrible earnings.

I eliminated all automatic ads including anchor ads and full screen vignette ads, leaving three fixed blocks in the posts.

My motto is "IF THEY DON'T PAY THERE ARE NO ADS"

No ads on the cover, and the CPC and RPM have increased but it doesn't count clicks and discounts them, so it doesn't matter what you do.

The page views are in my case the same as always.

If Adsense continues like this, it will only be maintained from official authority sites, which seems to be what it wants.

Adsense is working badly and it doesn't seem like it's going to be solved.

Traffic is still higher than Sep/Oct 2022, but RPM is way low. This is just depressing.

October 4th 2023 RPM $4.67

Same site same traffic numbers. Seeing drops nearing 70% from last revenue. Their stock is up nearly 50% YTD. Enough said.

September was good for 2023, but in the last week all gone to hell.
Now I see each day a lower eCPM.

Last year was the same. I did not feel the BF campaigns or Christmas.

Just OK here. Sept was as good as can be expected under the current economy. Oct is surprisingly close to par with last year.

Im at $10.95 RPM today. Hopefully things stay like this throughout the next quarter and we can survive. Taking a 70% hit in revenue this year has been terrible for us.

I'm still ahead of last year. It would have been better if my server had not crashed and I hadn't found out about it as late in the day as I did. It was down about 9 hours.

For me, CTR drop after Adsense GDPR since July - coincidence or not?

Same here @nova88, huge drop in July and my earnings have not recovered since.

Glad to see it's not just me that whent from terrible to nightmare territory... <chuckle> ... At the end of the day Adsense is a nice way to generate income but if you depend on that income you're in for a rough ride when the economy is down.. Adsense should not be your only iron in the fire...

My website jumped the google search position from somewhere in top 10 to somewhere in top 3 (most of the times) for related keywords... As a result, traffic is now almost 5x - but adsense revenue is now slightly less than earlier - I used to get $5-$7 RPM earlier but now the RPM is only around $1. Most traffic is from US only.

Any ideas, why google adsense is punishing the site when google search is rewarding it. It has been around 3-4weeks now...

I use [site24x7.com...] for website monitoring - free version sends email and mobile app notification, paid version, I think, also calls you on phone.

@magician - I see this happen with every update. The Spam and Core update is happening at the same time. Many movements in the SERPs, there are sites going up, others going down. Lots of oscillation.

My theory is that while updates are active, G reduces CPC, RPM and CRT.

They do this because many sites will gain a lot of ranking. (This is your case). With this, the sites will have immense earnings. I believe that G wants to avoid this until the updates are finished.

With every Core update, I see a drastic reduction in AdSense and huge ranking gains.

I think we should just assume that this month will be up and down until maybe sometime in november as Google is busy trying to fix this spam and core update that hasn't worked out the way they thought.

There should be less updates. I don’t get their obsessions with throwing so much out especially so close together.

On October 12, 1492, Columbus discovered the "new world." On October 12, 2023, I will be divorcing myself from the "New World Order" by beginning to remove Google's ads from my website.

Today, October 11, two cents. That's it. Two pennies. There was a time, prior to 2019, that I could count on a nice payment from G every month. Not a huge sum, but three figures, always. Last year, I began to see revenue fall off to less than the minimum monthly. Under present circumstances, I won't hit the minimum with two months' revenue.

I'm going to do what I should have done years ago, but was too busy with other life details: sell my own ads, promote my own products (Ebay... ugh! 42% fees, and they charge fees on taxes, which I'm not legally obligated to pay, anyway. Criminals).

Enough is enough. Under the current political and business leadership, the USA is a dead man walking. Kazakhstan is calling. Very open immigration policy. They even take Americans.
