October is starting to trail off some for me. Still OK, but the cooler weather does not help things. I use to depend on an xmas push but those days are long over.

All-time low RPM this month.

Weird day! Was there a SERP update? My traffic jumped about 20%.

From Oct 12 to 13, my traffic more than doubled and has gone even higher. I think there is something seriously wrong with Google at this point. I'm thinking of giving it until mid December to see if there's any improvement, but installing my own adserving software in the meantime. Back in the 1980s I was a newspaper publisher and sold ads in person. Wiht today's technology, I'm pretty sure I can raise more revenue in one week than I get in a month from Google.

Have to admit, Google's adsense made me lazy. Getting back to selling ads myself might just be good for me.

Yeah, there’s something weird going on. I’m getting a lot of useless traffic.

Traffic is up, but RPM way down.

I think the adsense stats are wrong. It shows very high pageviews and very low RPM. The pageviews are not reflected in analytics. It seems the pageviews on adsense are wrong, causing RPM to be very low - earnings are almost same as usual.

It looks like my uptick in traffic was an oncoming DDoS attack. LOL. I am trying to recover now. :-(

Pathetic earnings. Still use AutoAds everywhere.
@gatomark - was this the signaporian DDoS?

OK, just throwing this out there. My stas have been all over the pace the past few weeks, but the last two days are just off the charts stupid.

Wednesday, pageviews 3.5x what they normally are, page RPM $0.50, earnings a little above average.

Thursday (through 7:00 pm ET), pageviews 1/10th of Wednesday, page RPM $15.97, earnings 4x normal.

No wonder Google's stock has been tanking. They make this stuff up as they go along.

Their stock is up 32% YOY

itek

I increased my CTR by 1.5% by using their Auto Ad Vignette feature that is set at every 1 minute. My sites rarely see return visitors so F IT

Something good about Adsense currently:

The new automatic ad vignette function that is set every 10 minutes by default, I set it to 1 minute, it is working very well the RPM went up, income in three days has suddenly increased a lot, for me it is the only thing that is going perfect after to do hundreds of tests and experiments with all the ads, both automatic and fixed blocks.

The Vignette ads are ver intrusive (right on your face), I rather lose out on a bit of earnings and have better user experience.

Just personal opinion.

Vignette ads are some of the highest paying ads today, and we are all in Adsense to make money, not for charity.

Nowadays this "user experience" thing no longer works, in fact all the news websites have hundreds of ads, you can hardly even see what they write anymore.
Discover is the terror of ads, you don't even feel like entering the websites.

Conclusion:
I have had two ads and little income, three ads and little income, the user experience has not even seen that there were few ads, but now it turns out that with more vignette ads there are clicks, the only thing that works.

I think Adsense used to want 3 ads in the past, and now they want hundreds in the present.

Everything has changed, what worked before no longer works.

This is my conclusion.

Google has a new method of infuriating users worldwide: Ads don't load. This morning, their ads refuse to load on my site. Anybody else experiencing this issue.

I'm so glad that I've begun the process of removing their ads from thousands of pages. They've not only become an annoyance, they're now costing me business.

About mid-November I should be completely devoid of Google's intrusive and increasingly worthless ads. All of the efforts I've made to comply with their polices have been for naught. I wish them nothing but the worst of everything.

"Don't be evil" has morphed into "Evil Incarnate."

I have AdSense still on my website, although it's no longer really significant in terms of earnings. It basically is just there to pay for the hosting and maintenance etc. In the last week my earnings have literally quadrupled, and it's mostly because of Vignette Ads. Have they made some kind of change in this area? Is anyone else seeing this kind of recent increase?

Due to poor performance, I have removed Adsense from 90% of my site already several months ago. No Vignette, no auto ads - same motto as someone else posted here - no pay, no ads. So, I'm running just a few ads on a small portion of the site atm, just to make sure I notice when things come back to normal (if they ever do). So far, they haven't and in 2nd half of October the earnings have plunged to below 1.00 on most of the days with 1-2K page page views. 20cents today. Yes, cents. So, I'm going to remove ads now. Not being that donkey going after the carrot. My suggestion to everyone to do the same.

...and re-running Page Speed Insights after removing aDsense improved performance by 15 points and accessibility by 10... which should supposedly have positive effect on SERPs. Sounds like pretty awesome SEO for 20 cents a day, LOL

Question, is there a way to show a "Auto Ads" widget on the Adsense dashboard? I know it would be a brief view of the stats and you would have to go to reports to see a more detailed version, but I would love to be able to see "Auto Ads" vs "Manual Ads" on the dashboard as I don't always want to go into the reports. I can't find a way to do this, is it possble and how?

Thanks in advance.

@Skips I also did what you say, eliminate all the ads if you want, but leave the vignettes for 1 or 2 minutes and try, then you tell if it is worth it or not, and tell us, it is the only thing that is working for me in these days.

Things are low here today as well so I’m guessing because of Halloween. Maybe everyone is waiting to roll out Christmas ads soon.

@LucasPerez, I might try this experiment at some point, just not now. Spending so much time 'optimizing' Adsense to earn a couple of extra dollars has become counterproductive. This time, a year ago I was making about 500-700 per month with traffic about 20% lower than now. Not huge, but nice little extra income. For one reason, or another (not dependent on me or my site) the earnings have gradually decreased to the 100/mo level, so I have decided to run ad-free site for some time. I'd much rather put the effort into developing the service and try to get up from the bottom of online advertising food chain as adsense publisher :)
