I'm glad the website isn't dead but I believe I found something that could decrease my earnings. I've a community so visitors generate a lot of pageviews. Since a couple of hours I see blanks where I don't have a passback or I see a lot of ads from my passback. So if a visitor generates a lot of pageviews Adsense stops to show ads from the network... not even with Admanager and other networks. I've to find out how to solve this.

Hate to be the voice of reason ... but most folks know that any ad emails from g urging this and that is generally bogus for value, right? Their job is pushing the platform. Your job is to comply (or if awake and thinking properly, take a second look and do what is right for YOU).

Meanwhile, every month is a crisis for somebody, not everybody, but somebody.

Take a deep breath. There's always the next month to get through!

I like to update that there are many Google AdSense publishers got noticed and received emails that “Your payment amount is higher than your chosen form of payment.” Those publishers are now confused and don’t know what to do with that. I personally checked that there are tons of complaints from publishers. So I think its belongs to this update.

My matched content now seems to show only ads - no content. Anyone else?

Not strictly Adsense-related but I'm trialling another ad network this month, after being promised untold wealth, fortune and high eCPMs.

Well, their eCPMs were certainly high but only because they underreported pageviews and impressions by astonishing amounts. Was told a load of nonsense when I queried this.

Anyway, when compared to raw data from Analytics and historical data from Adsense, their CPMs and RPMs are pretty much on a par with Adsense, i.e. low.

If there's a golden pill for the Adsense blues out there, I'm yet to find it.

If Google wants to improve the security and reputation of their ad network, it does make sense to remove the “If no ads available” option as they have no control over what is being shown through their iframe with some random external url.

Seeing a massive % drop in clicks, page RPM and impression RPM today. Pageviews and Impressions seem good though. Anyone else seeing anything similar? Any ideas on what could be causing this? Was hoping it was just a reporting delay, but seems unlikely if some sections seem to be accurate. Ideas? (Approx. 1:00PM EST)

@worker, it is 20:57 GMT and I do see the same results here too. Impressions seem to be ok, but everything else is low across the board that also includes RPM today for me.

Same here
Google ist testing the new program AfP
Adsense for Peanuts
The bright side of these developments: seeking for new reliable source of revenues and not following a franchising program where the franchise taker pays 40 pc of his turnover.
Take a break and think over the business modell you want achieve.
Even the payment emails for this month haven t been sent yet....
Have a lively week.

There is no miracle on other networks...

There are no miracles, period. But there has to be something better, even if just incrementally better, than the dross being served up by Adcents.

The earnings are really on a low side this period, despite the traffic increased.

I also didn’t get the email and I’m pretty mad about it as I’m just catching up with things now after spending the last few days programming a new passback url system for my site which I now learn is going to be useless!

As for ad revenue this month - impression RPM for Feb: £0.70, March: £0.68, April: £0.60.

April 2018 my impression RPM was £1.04. April 2017 it was £1.54.

Here's an interesting article.

[medium.com...]

I dumped Adsense again this year - this time for the very final time. Fed up with typically getting 10 consecutive clicks at the start of the day for zero revenue, fed up with getting penny clicks, fed up seeing earnings for the last 7 days being equivalent to what I used to earn in an hour or so, fed up with seeing non-contextual junk ads that are going to interest virtually nobody. Things started to turn bad several years ago, but with each year that passes the downturn becomes even more severe.

There will always be the delusional optimists - the ones who 'hope' it will be better next month - who state how much Google still makes from ads and how Adsense revenue keeps growing from year to year but, based on my own personal experience with Adsense since 2006, the comments and statistics in this article explain quite a lot.

Yes, but the truth is also that we are dying with Google (most of us, anyway).

The "free" internet was a nice illusion, but are we ready to really pay for all the services?

It's a little strange how the screws really tightened at the very start of April. This is not like past years.

April ... tax time in America ... or could it be that the curtain has been moved and some saw the wizard at work?

(chuckles! do not take that as serious!)

The "free" internet was a nice illusion, but are we ready to really pay for all the services?

Never was free ... you kiddies do pay for your hosting, bandwidth, content (time creating it if nothing else), and etc. Your money, not g's ...

TANSTAAFL.

Kudos to g for keeping the myth of free income alive as long as they have. This April might be the hard reckoning ...

To complex to understand for a publisher.
Looks that the drop has reached a bottom line following a reworking on my websites enhancing contents quality and quantity.

Niches remain remunerating well even if not like 12 months ago.
2 digit RPM remains and single clicks of 8 to 10 Dollars haven t disappeared.
Difficult to find another service as Adsense I have to admit.

Be self critical and review your websites you will probably come out of this nightmare.

Also the statements found around Adense in this place don‘t say a lot as it depends on the country you are serving and the sector you are covering.

Clicks for Loan for bad credit scores in UK will probably better pay than Brussels hotel booking.

16 Years with Adsense and I think this is going to be the first month I do not make the minimum threshold. It's about time to fold up my site, I guess. Google core updates have continuously killed my traffic and the remaining traffic mostly uses ad blockers, so what's the point of going on? It's causing me more stress than income at this point.

The other day I had two cents....checked later and they pulled one cent back. I think that was when I decided it was time to either abandon Adsense or shut down entirely.

Anyway, my site is a tech tutorial site, original content, and I am a professional in the field--I wanted to add that in hopes of being a productive member and not just someone complaining.

Tech-related sites exploded a few years ago, as every little Indian boy made a tech blog, especially in the mobile area.

This created inflation.
For each tech event, there is a huge coverage and spam.

Anyway, this weekend is Orthodox Easter, it should not impact the revenue and traffic so much, but it's worse than last week.

The revenue this weekend is extremely low.

After having seen the numbers from a bigger Adsense account, I can confirm that April 2019 can / will be considered a breaking point. A busy site, unaffected by any updates in the past years, with only one Adsense ad above the fold only getting around 0.15-0.20 CTR (is it even mathematically possible?). RPM went down by 100% in April alone. Something has definitely changed for much worse; lack of advertisers may be one reason, but the extremely low CTR is unexplained to me. I read Google 'caught' some big apps commiting ad click fraud, it could have some effect too.

RPM went down by 100%? you definitely don't have a good relationship with math
