I am up to 14 clicks with a 12p CPC so far today. But it's still early afternoon in the US so hopefully, things will get slightly better. At least marchers earnings were a lot better than January's.

@May Is it possible to work out how many clicks were disabled.

It's certainly more up and down for me than I can remember - but I take that to be the new nature of online advertising (they have evolved just as users have). Budgets are used day-to-day instead of the old "set-up-and-forget" approach over the course of a given month.

New nature doesn't start in one day, but this BS started.

There's just no rhyme or reason to the earning trends these last few weeks.

Earnings still down in my shop ...70% down from this time last year over. I no longer am able to expect improvement out of Google.

I...guess I should have just said "+1."

best of luck...

All the direct advertisers that I work with are on Easter holiday from April 5 - April 8. These are big e-commerce companies. Maybe this is why our revenue is down? :/

Is my internet broken or Netflix ads are slow to load?

AdSense is only dead if you are not making any money at all. I can understand that going from £50 a day down to £10 a day may be very frustrating, but that's still £300 a month. My daily earnings used to be between £20 and £30 three or four years ago. However, I'm very lucky to make it to £10 nowadays, in fact, £6 for a day's earnings is what I would consider pretty good nowadays. Anything is better than nothing.

Can't stress enough the importance of not relying on Google Adsense as a main income source especially Q2 of each year. So many variables from taxes to consumers tightening their wallets due to holiday season purchases. Advertisers pull back around this time each and every year and can lead to a 50%+ decrease in CPC and CTR from Apr-Jun. Best of luck to all!

I think in the old days it would have been very easy to get used to Google AdSense as a main part of your income. However, I think a lot of people have probably realised that it's not something that was ever going to last. I was saying exactly the same thing a couple of years ago when AdSense started dropping for me.

Do most of you people work with just AdSense? Like you get your AdSense ad tags and plug it in your page? If you have significant traffic, especially US, that strategy boggles my mind.

@Child please I have enough US traffic to make at least $100 a day. It used to be more than $200 last year, but AdSense rates dropped more than traffic this year.

Yes, I using just AdSense and one unoptimized AdX ad unit from partner. No network work as good as AdSense :(

There is no real alternative to Adsense, or even Google search!

Affiliates never really worked (except niches) and the "free" internet is transforming fast into a subscription-based system.
Just 1/2/3/4/5$/month seems to be the new model.

With the privacy issues all over the news, soon we will regret the "old internet", that seemed to be "free".

If you have significant traffic and page views don't use Adsense, use Adx, I am glad I ditched Adsense, checking the dashboard every 30 mins was doing my head in lol. Now I am forced to check at the end of each day :) no more stress, much better.

This year we lost 40% in social media traffic because of Facebook changes, we gained 30% search engine traffic, then lost about 10% because of March update. Now the rankings are climbing again, hopefully, things will improve.

Have a great day everyone.

@Ironside Link ads, and header ad.

Just 1/2/3/4/5$/month seems to be the new model.

This. I don't link the new subscription model.

If half or more users pay $5 per month then it could be good enough. At least a stable revenue flow. The annual plans are much better imo.

@Mayank, I agree that nothing does better than AdSense, you would be crazy to swap out AdSense for another network. But why not use other networks alongside AdSense?

You could grab one or two high paying impressions from other networks and then use AdSense for the bulk of your inventory. Not only that, but using DFP, you would also put a lot more pressure on AdSense to bid higher on any given impression. Right now, it sounds like there is no competition.

@Kash, how do you switch from AdSense to AdX? What are the minimum traffic requirements?

@MayankParmar, is your site "windows latest" ? If so, I am surprised that Chrome is not blocking the ads, the whole content above the fold is only made ads ?!

@child please

You will have to join through a network partner, there are many out there. Most of them take about 15% of the revenue each month. I like it because I have an account manager who is there to help. There is no responsive ads with Adx, you will have to run the tags through dfp to make them responsive.

Cheers

Ah ok, I thought you got in directly...yeah I have gotten a handful of invitations from partners, but I declined because I'm a control freak and I like to own it all! :)

Did you see a significant increase in revenue moving from AdSense to AdX, taking the partner cut into account?

Anyway, I guess I'll have to reconsider that again.

@Travis + Yep. Google Chrome won't block the ads as they don't have content above the fold rule on desktop. On mobile, I have taken care of it ;)

@child please I tried PubGalaxy but the site speed increased to 20-30s.

@Kash1111 My AdX partner is pure dumb. They don't know how to properly operate DFP. It is the raw AdX ad without any optimization they are serving, coverage is just 50% -_-

AdX is as good as AdSense tbh.

Anyone else seen a marked increase in CPC in the last week or two?
It had been disappointing in 2018 but has picked up a lot recently - may just be fluctuations but thought I'd ask :)

@MayankParmar if you want to get the most from Adx, you have to use it with DFP and multi size creatives. Try to traffic all your Adx dfp ad units in a single line item.

I'm still getting a bit of money through media.net. I would say every couple of months and getting a payment of around £100. So for a lot of you I think it would work well

@child_please
But why not use other networks alongside AdSense?

I question whether it makes sense to do this ("alongside"). Having multiple auctions for the same impressions is far from optimal. If you want to use multiple ad-networks (that is a good idea, more demand) you should be using DFP such that all the demand can compete in the same auction, which will push price up across all those networks.
