Last day of January is really pathetic :(

@Kegnum Tech niche, I think I can make some income from affiliate ads. Actually I have never bothered about affiliate ads, though will focus on it this month.

Extremely bad Feb 1st as well and today is even looking worse. I guess adversisers are poor after spending all their money on super bowl commercials.

Why do we have TWO February AdSense threads?

Total crap here too, though I was told by G. my traffic/ads should be back to normal by 24 hours (now about 3 hours away.) No improvement yet, SIGH.

This too shall pass, or so they say......

"Why do we have TWO February AdSense threads?"

One covers February 2018 and other is a jumpstart for February 2019 because, well, we'll all still be complaining about loss of revenue! ; )

Blanks ads still not collapsing and leaving empty spaces on page, is there any workaround for this ?!?

Incidentally, last month was my highest clawback ever, for the record. Not quite 10%, but still. On my lowest month's earning for years, they take the biggest clawback. Ah, well. Insult to injury. What else is new?

I have gone from bad to worse. Biting back tears here. Google rep tells me that the drop in revenue of 60 percent is because of falling impressions. There is a drop but it is minimal!

This was a huge drop after Jan 22. Even the last 7 days has been a drop of 47%...

This same rep told me that my problem was because they weren't showing ads on my site properly since brand safety but that it would be fixed by 2 pm today.

Something is not right, I think. @NickMNS, @AZLinda? Any better?

@Unshiny I feel your pain.
1- If they said that they have reviewed your site and things will be back today, then that is a good sign. It may take a little longer as the review needs to roll-out fully.
2- Use Backup ads, see the recommendations from Robzilla and myself in this thread [webmasterworld.com...]
3- Note that the "brand safety" may not be the only thing impacting your site, if traffic is an issue you will need to address that separately as it likely has little to do with AdSense
4- I don't want to worry you any more than you are, but today Google released Chrome v64 so the blocking of ads on sites that don't conform to the "Better Ads Standards" is in motion and the first impacts should begin to be felt in the next 30 days or so. Be sure you site conforms to BAS otherwise you may recover just in time to feel even more pain. More info here: [webmasterworld.com...]

Thanks much Nick. Did your coverage issue get solved? Are things better for you?

I appreciate the heads up about the adblocker festivities upcoming. As far as I know, we are not afoul of those BAS user experience guidelines....

@Maximum Yep :D The stats is just like mountain, it's not stable. Depends on news and Google's Top Stories, things were bad earlier today but now it looks good :D

Can I run something past you guys?

I know all traffic and all clicks are not created equal. But here's a for instance:

Let’s pull a day at random, January 22 - 43,172 (2018)

January 22, 2017 – 44,322 (2017)

1,150 impressions difference.

January 2017 that brought revenue of $65.07 (estimated)

January 2018 the revenue is $32.09 estimated.

How does that make any sense?

....am I just under-estimating the value of that thousand impressions? Or do I just have to assume that the value of my niche has fallen *that* far?

We are probably going to gradually get rid of Google. (We already have backup ads in place.)

I'll bet you anything I'm much worse off than you are. If things continue as they are, I won't even make the minimum to be paid this month. That will be a first time ever in all my years with AdSense. I will give AdSense until February 15, and if things do not improve, I am out the door. Perhaps that is what they want?

G is happy with big publishers, we are nothing! I'm upset over the fact that there are no good alternatives. There's is no democracy!

Of course not. This is business. Capitalism. The big dogs rule and will do what they can to crush the competition.

What’s an average CTR and when is it too high that you should start worrying?

Just learned today that the Monday after Superbowl Sunday is the biggest "sick day" in America. Might account for down numbers today (for some). About 14 million people they estimate will call in sick today.

Today is my worst day of the year so far, traffic is a bit down, clicks way down and the CPC at CA$0.16.

Not sure what to try anymore.
