Adsense plummeted in the last few hours.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen this, and if not then why it happened.

Usually from 7pm until midnight I'll see an increase in revenue of about $50. Today was going like normal, but then from 7pm until 9pm it went up by about $2. Then from 9pm until 11pm, another $1. So where I expected around $40 to $50, I only made $3!

Traffic was normal, ads are showing up like normal, and nothing changed on my end. There are no "warnings" in the Adsense dashboard.

Is there a delay with the Adsense report, or something I should be in panic mode about?

My earnings are down, too, but I have the red bar saying that reports are delayed.

No red bar on my end, but I can definitely breath easier knowing that they're being delayed for others :-) I had to make an adjustment to my site earlier today, and I was suddenly panicking that maybe I'd accidentally done something real bad! lol

My reports have been delayed since yesterday afternoon. Still showing the red bar notifying me of the delay. Google Analytics does seem to be updating normally, but I've never seen an AdSense reporting delay drag on for so long.

I am seeing the red bar in the Performance Report. Yesterday's earnings were down, so not sure if there is delay in those numbers or they are real. And I am showing clicks for today, but far less than expected. So I am not sure if the delay applies to yesterday and today or just today. I guess time will tell.

I seemed to stop earning yesterday around 6pm. Revenue trickled in a tiny bit through the night and I found yesterday's earnings to be lower than expected with this morning's earnings also very low. Over the past hour I've been seeing yesterday's earnings increase little by little, getting better and better. Today's earnings, so far, are still very low. But this does appear to be an issue that's being resolved over time...

@Sal yup, I just refreshed my Adsense report and yesterday's earnings moved up a few pennies as did today's. So the delay applies to earnings from yesterday and today.

Same here, so it's definitely just a lag on their end and nothing to worry about. From midnight last night until noon today, yesterday's report went up by about $50, so it was pretty much a normal day after all :-)

Today seems low, too, but I'm not gonna panic. Still no red bar on my dashboard, though, so that's kinda weird.

For me, the red bar only appears on the View Report page. It doesn't appear on the AdSense home page.

Ohhhhhh, OK... I see it now. I haven't been looking at the reports, I have all of the important snippets on the homepage and didn't think to dig further.

Yup here too. Earnings seem low, but not unusually low. Just lower than I would like, but then again any figure is lower than I would like :o)

Yesterday's hiccup appeared to be caught up at around 12:00 noon the following day. Pageviews, RPMs all look pretty much the same.

The earnings are almost non-existent today for some reason.

Normal traffic. Only different thing is the normal number of posts wasn't made today.
Normally 8 posts per day, but only 3 were made today and 5 more added afterward.
I doubt that delay in posting would cause such a drastic change in earnings.

At first glance things do look abnormally low for me too, even for a Saturday. Hope it's a reporting issue again.

@Rustybrick this thread was initially started due to a reporting issue that was resolved, the next day. But I am seeing unusually low earning since about noon yesterday and continuing today that my stats show are the result of abnormally low coverage. As I reported last night in Adsense Earnings thread, I have my ad-balance set at 50%, yesterday I ended with coverage of 38% and this morning I am down to 36%. In another account, where Ad-balance is set to 100% I'm seeing coverage of 75% where I consistently see 100%, this morning it is at 84%.

@NickMNS, same here for yesterday and today, my money dropped by 17% as compared to the previous week. I don't think it's an error with reporting, though, it looks like the money just legitimately dropped :-(

Interesting considering this is the run-up to xmas. Historically ad spending has increased in the final stretch (for me at least).

@NickMNS, what do you mean by coverage? I just looked, and pageviews for Dec 16, 17, and 18 were virtually the same (ranging from 65k to 67k), but revenue dropped by 17% from the 16th to the 18th. Page RPM dropped by 24.6% over the same period.

What's really funny, though, is I see the exact same pattern last year! Dec 16 for both years is almost identical in revenue, but then the 17th this year is 20.6% higher than 2016, and the 18th is 6% higher than 2016.

If the pattern matching last year continues then revenue will be low until the 26th. Last year, the week up to Christmas was super low for me, then the 26th jumped up by 29%.

coverage is the measure of the number of filled impressions. Sometime impressions go unfilled, ie no ads are shown. If you go to performance reports then select the custom tab. then pick a few relevant items from the list such as page views, impression, earnings, and coverage. Then click on the coverage tab to display the curve. you should get a report that looks like this

So that doesn't seem like a major change to me. The Impression RPM dropped significantly across the 3 days, though.
